The book i just finished reading is called "a child called it" is based on a true story.Is an autobiography by Dave Pelzer.After reading this book i still don't understand why Dave's mom would do such thing to torture their own child just because of pleasure. The author Dave had a lot of courage to survive his mom's torture game but I don't understand why there was a time that his mom really took care of him and i don't know why she change.Is it because Dave's parent always argue because of Dave,i really don't know.Dave would still get beaten everyday for his food so when he have a chance to eat he would eat as fast as possible before his mom would change his mind.What make this book so interesting is when Dave gets torture he try his hardest to fight to survive.One of the sickest torture his mom would do is to put a bucket,filled with a mixture of ammonia and Clorox, in the bathroom with Dave.This would make Dave collapsed and start spitting up.Dave is very smart, he put the bucket as far away as possible so he couldn't smell the chemical but is a seal room so he wet his rag in the toilet(because he don't his mom to hear the sink turn on) and cover his face with it.Dave's plan didn't help him much after the "GAS CHAMBER" treatment, Dave cough up blood for an hour.


1. What was the author's purpose(s) in writing this book, and how can you tell? How well was this purpose achieved?I think the author's purpose of writing this book is because he want to share his experience of his childhood and to spread the idea of child abusing.During the book Dave explains how he would used to get torture and how he fight to survive it.when the book is finished you can see that the author wrote his personal perspectives on child abusing.In Dave's perspective he wrote about the purpose of writing this book and one of his main reason is to mobilize Americans to create a country where it won't hut to be a child.He also explains that how his story will"help people understand that our child abuse crisis goes far beyond excessive spanking ".Dave's story is really touching and sad so in November of 1994, Dave was the only united states citizen to be awarded as one of the Outstanding Young Persons of the World, in Kobe japan.His book was the #1 International bestseller in 1995 and after his book were published, he become as one of the nation's most effective an respected communicators addressing corporate groups.His also known as a conventions and human-service professional.In the book Dave talked about how lonely his childhood was and how he thought he was going to be his mom's slave forever, i think Dave's childhood must be really painful and sad.In Dave's point of view he thinks that most parent abuse their child is because of their everyday life frustrations on society or those he or she may love.I think that child abusing will just lead to kids running away from home and kids getting hurt or died just because of their parent want to express their emotions.I think the author really achieved his purpose of why he wrote this book.He got spread

Pick a character that interested you and write about them in depth.My favorite character is Dave because his really strong and he have a lot of courage to survive.Dave always think so positive even in sad cases he always daydream how his life is going to get better and how his dad is going to come one day and save him from that house so his life won't be this bad.Dave really don't have a problem with his dad but i remember in one of part the book when Dave's mom was making Dave eat the bowl of regurgitated hot dogs and his dad was right next to him just watching and stood there.Dave said "At that moment i hated mother to no end, but i hated father even more". I think this is the quote i remember the most through out the whole book maybe because i really got the message to that quote. Dave would always think of his mom back in when he was a child, how she took care of him and i think even through his mom beat on him all the time, Dave would still have care for his mother.In the book Dave didn't mention a lot about his brothers maybe because they didn't get beat on.I still don't know why Dave's mom would only hit and torture Dave but not his brother.In Dave's childhood there were a lot of good time, liked when their whole family went on a trip to Guerneville by the way that the author explain this trip, it sounds like he really enjoyed those times. He also had a bad time during the Russian River trip, during the trip Dave's mom suspend Dave to go to the river with his dad and brothers.When Dave was alone in the RV with his mom ,his mom made her own son eat one of Russell's(Dave's little brother)soiled diapers.Of course Dave denied to eat that, than his mom would ended up smacking him.Dave is one of my favorite character of of the book because he had so much courage to survive.

Through out this book i learn a lot on child abusing.This is definitely the best child abusing book i ever read.I strongly recommend this book for other people because i think ever one who read this book will feel bad for the author at some point and the author really know how to send message through his story by writing.Lastly,by the way that the author writes you can tell how much he wish for a normal family when he was a little kid.

The book i just finished reading is called "a child called it" is based on a true story.Is an autobiography by Dave Pelzer.This book is mainly about the author Dave(or David) getting abuse by his alcoholic mom.The story continues when Dave would get torture more often than before.Dave would still get beaten everyday for his food so when he have a chance to eat he would eat as fast as possible before his mom would change his mind.

The school already have an idea of whats going on with Dave's family.The nurse would check up on Dave every week for new scars because she knows that Dave would get beat everyday.One day Dave got called in the office, he have no idea whats going on but he know is about his family.Then he spoke to the police but Dave didn't say nothing about his mom because he scared that if his mom find out he would get no food and get beat on.Even though David's mom would take her anger out on him but his dad often tend to sneak food in the garage so David won't faint and go to the hospital like last time.

Dave's dad would often try to convince his mom to led him eat but the more Dave's dad talk about the topic the more angry his mom would get until this breaks into an argument.Often times David's dad would leave and pack his clothes and leave the house after an argument.And this leads to even more beating.But Dave's mom can never run away for what she have done so at last Dave's mom finally got arrested for the bruises on Dave's body. After reading this book i felt really bad for Dave because all he think about is to escape in his childhood and he got beaten at a very young age, i mean why would anyone beat on their own child!I think this is just cruel and sick.

I am almost finished with the book Down These Mean Streets. The book takes place when he was a teenager and the book is in first person. This book is about a boy named Piri that live in El Barrio and it talks about how he grew up and the problems he went through. Piri strongly dislikes his race because people were racist back then and he didn't like to be compared with his family members. His brother gets more advantages because of his lighter skin and blue eyes.Due the the reason that his not as imporant as his brother he started to sell drugs. We went from weed to heroin, he made alot of money but he still got caught. He was sentense for six years and when he got out he was on parol for another 3 years.

Piri joins and fights with street gangs and when he was selling heroin there was a time where he was suffers through heroin addiction. Piri's family didn't really like African American because of their skin color. Piri is cuban but his skin color is darker than his family so his family tent to issolate him. This causes Piri to spend much of his teenage and early adult life contemplating his racial and ethnic identity.Piri expends a lot of energy on his efforts to fit in. He put him self through alot of trobule to gain and maintain his reputation. Piri been through so many problem like robbing a night club, hitting teachers, selling drugs, and almost kill a police officer.The main problem about Piri is that hot-temper and violent thought.His family told them that he had ashamed them and their family name because he went to jail.Piri went through 6 years of jail all because of his anger issue.

ipod/music

The iPod is a mp3 designed and marketed by apple and launched on October 23, 2001.Their's a selections of ipods like classic,mini,nano,video,touch,and phone. I think ipod is the most important device in everyday life.We need them every where like school,home,and trips.I say about 99/100 people I see with MP3 players are using ipods.When I bought my first iPod, I wanted a player that could hold all of my music.when ipod first came out it can ony hold 1000 songs(4gb),back then that's alot of songs.Now ipod up to 32gb,80 gb,and 180gb.I like ipods because they're good to look at (shape, colours, etc), is simple to use, and they have good sound quality. To be honest i don't really care about all those features on the ipods.There are music players out there that are way more cooler and have many more features, but people will buy the ipod for more money because "everyone has it" and they think is the best mp3 player out there.

Today the iPod is not just a product, it has become a lifestyle and is like the ipod device have every software and programs on its own.I think the only way that the iPod could become so popular is that Apple gives it such an "exclusive" style. You can only charge your iPod with the iTunes software, only can use Apps from the Apple store, and you even can't change the batteries yourself. I love ipod so much because is so easy to use and it hold a lot of songs. The ancient Greeks believed music could heal and used it to treat certain physical ailments.The rhythm, or beat, of music does in fact have an immediate effect on the body. As you listen to music your heart rate decreases and sets in motion the relaxation process and music can create an overall calming effect that slows bodies and minds down.I have to listen to music to do anything productive. It keeps my mind off the task at hand. And I also listen to music while I'm in school. Its a must to keep me calm and it helps me think when i am writing.I think music is the best tool in writing ,for every different songs you can think of a new ideas to write about.Music is definitely the best tool to help me get through when i am stuck in writing.Music is weird because you can organized them by its beats,rhythm,and lyrics.To many people in many cultures music is an important part of their way of life.Music is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes.I really think music can be one of the most imporant thing in life.

Hong kong

Hong Kong began as a coastal island geographically located in southern china.Hong kong is a very small city but it have alot of people in it.Is a city with many shops,for example we have a 7/11 on every block.In 1983, Hong Kong was reclassified from a British crown colony to a dependent territory, but the hong kong basic law, which would serve as the constitutional document after the transfer, was ratified in 1990, and the transfer of sovereignty occurred at midnight on 1 July 1997. I was still living in hong kong in 1997 , that year was very memorable for all the people that lived in that city.what the difference between america and hong kong is that you see alot of people,shops,restaurant and you see alot people walkin at night.In that city they have every thing you can name it we have our own flag,disney land,have biggest buddhist statue, our popluation is 7055071 and our land area is 386 square miles.


Perhaps one of Hong Kong's most famous food is Dim Sum, which is a bunch of small appetizer type dumplings, pastries and other items. It's sort of like Chinese style tapas (Spanish). You go for Dim Sumwith your friends and family so you can try a lot of different dishes. Servers pushing carts of various food circulate through the restaurant. If you want something, just gesture to it, and the server places a plate on your table then stamp your bill so they know how much to charge you later. Some Dim Sum dishes may be familiar - like pot stickers, or a plate of noodles.Others incorporate familiar items in new ways, like fried dumplings stuffed with chopped shrimp. Still others may seem downright scary like boiled chicken feet...which tastes like chicken, surprisingly but may freak out first time visitors.Food is cheap in hong kong.You can spend about $2-3 USD for a lunch box or a bowl of soup noodle. Some of them tastes really really great, A soup noodle in some old/odd looking food shop could taste better than any food in high-end restaurant. Fast food usually aren't the cheapest food in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has 2 famous HK style fast food chain both started with "BIG". Their food aren't bad, and serve very Chinese style fast food.

There's alot of places to go in hong kong like the temple of 10 thousand buddas in Sha Tin. At the top of the hill, there is the temple. There are buddahs of all sizes and shapes. There is even a small place you can buy a drink although it is largely undiscovered by tourists, there are mainly locals up there. It really is an amazing, tranquil place to be. The big buddah on Lantau is quite spectacular too, but very touristy.You should also go to stanley market, the markets in mong kok, take a round trip on the star ferries, the list is just endless.If you really looking for a good place to travel i thnk the best city you can go to is hong kong.

life

I know why old people hate the hospital.when i get old i not trying to go to the hospital because i don't want to live there,and stare at the ceiling for hours and hours.That's pretty much waiting to die, but everyone have to die one day. Life go by fast i think people should be thankful of what they have right now.I think the saddest thing in life is death,because i don't want my family and friends to die,that's not cool.so I think everyone need to make better chances when they have a chances to.I want to make a lot of money when i grow up and retired in my 40s and just live my life with a lot money.

Its difficult to be successful,doing good in school is not enough.You have to be smart,not academic smart,street smart.There's a lot of scam company and hustler out there so you got look after your self and don't trust no one but yourself.I don't know why people are so stingy with there money.There money everywhere you just need to know your way to get it.Money don't solve every problem but it does help you with a lot of things.I read this book call "poor dad and rich dad" is the best book i ever read so far.It teaches you in financing skill and show you how to make money the fast way.The things they show you in the book is very useful.

Don't ever go on to those web site that tell you that you can make a lot money at home,its a scam,someone was working in one of those site and they got scam 5000$.I learn to make money the legal way when i was in 8 grade,making money illegally leads you nowhere because the money you made can't cover the fine when you get caught.

8.How do you like having a blog? How has blogging changed the way you write, the way you think, or the way you think about writing?

I used to hate blog,(what if you run out of ideas and what if you don't feel like writing sometimes.300 words, that's a lot of word for the people who don't like to write and that's why i don't like to blog).That's how I used to think.I kinda of like having a blog now because is easy and it help me improve with my writing.I think blogging help me a lot on improving my writing because since i start blogging i notice i don't get stuck that much any more and ideas just keep on coming.I think is easy now because is a free write and i can pick any topic i decide to write about.At first blogging is kinda of hard for me because i don't usually like to write at home or i just don't like to write period.when i first blog i always keep tract of how many word i wrote but now i don't don't even keep tract of how many word i write.I think i kinda do like having a blog because is a way of expressing your idea and it helps you improve your writing.I think blogging is a good thing,other people like your friend's and families can read what's going on in your life.It's like a article about your self.Blogging didn't change the way i think,what ever i can think of i just write about it(and this is the only thing i like about blogging).when i start my blog every week ,sometimes i read another people's blog to see if i can find any ideas for me to write about and i always can come up with many ideas.That is my only solution to writers block.I was looking back at my blog posted,and i can see that now i write differently then how i wrote back then.Now I add a lot of unnecessary sentence in my blog post ,like sentence that have nothing to do with the topic.The way i think of writing back then is that is very boring,a lot of work,and there is no point to write but now i think writing can be helpful in our life in the future.I thinking blogging is defiantly a good assignment to help improve on writing.



7. What have you learned from your struggles with writer's block? Why do you tend to get stuck? How do you tend to get unstuck? Notice any patterns?

Writer's block is something i always get,and i hate it.I'll just be finishing up my sentence and out of now where i got stuck.The only solution to this problem for me is to look at other people's blog to get some more idea,but sometimes that don't work so i just watch some TV or something like that to get my mind off blogging.After i got my mind off of blogging and the next day when i come back I'll would have new ideas again.I think writer's block is just when a writer got tired of writing and your brain is telling you to take a break so you think your really stuck but your actually not.I've learn a lot from my struggles with writer's block.I discover something new when i got stuck one time and all you have to do is to stop,i mean to stop writing for 3 hours and when you come back on your computer i am 100% sure that the first thing come to your mind is how to write better,and your going keep on thinking and at last you going to end up writing.That work for me every time,but i am not sure if it work for every one.I tend to get stuck when i get tired so i just take a break.Reading is another solution to writer's block because reading give you information on other things and this lead you to start thinking harder.It depends on what kind of book do you read,for example i read magazines because it give me information on what's going on every week so i can find ideas to write about,but sometimes i choose the wrong topic and that just get me stuck after 3 sentence.When i get really stuck i find a new topic to write about and hopefully i chose the right topic.







10. Where do you get your ideas for blog post topics? What inspires you to write?

I usually get my ideas from every day life.I think of what happen all week or whats going to happen this week?any big event coming up?That's what i do a lot but now i go on other people's blog and look at what they blog about and just surfing the Internet and see if i can get any good ideas to write about.Music is very useful when you trying write because is a way to relax you so you will fell comfortable when you write.The best music to write to is techno,i think is because the beat is fast so is pasting you to write faster.I listen to techno when we do quick write every time that's i how i always finished so fast.I think i get my ideas on the things i like because every one can write about what they like,for example like hobbies,music,food,shoes,and electronic device.I love writing on the things i like because i can't ran out of ideas to write about.when you blog nothing really inspire you to write,you just write what's on your mind or what you feel like writing.You can just write about anything when you blog any topic you like it's like a free write.I sometimes forget i have to blog for English,I think of it as some thing i need to do every week if i don't do it ,i feel like there's some thing missing from my week end.I think i just got use to blogging.Another way to help me blog is brainstorming in my head,this method is very useful.I just write down of a list of topic to write about and i try to write 2 or 3 sentence for each topic to see what topic works for me the best.I think when i ran out of ideas to write about another method to use is to ask your self a lot of question.This method is very useful.I got this idea from Sutherland's blog he was writing about how to get pass writer's blog and i thought this can be a good idea to inspire another people on blogging.
